My Story
Mike Sayre, Executive Coach
My purpose in life is to improve as many lives on this Earth as I can before I leave it, with whatever experiences, skills, and abilities I can gain.
I’ve worked on that mission as a C-level leader in a number of successful companies, and I am a lifelong learner.
However, I can improve many more lives if I can help leaders in lots of companies up their game and make their companies more successful!
That is why I am an executive coach today.
About Mike
As a CEO, President, COO, CFO or CIO, Mike has led companies through growth (organic and through acquisition), international expansion (through startup, acquisition and joint venture), major system or process improvement (Agile) implementation, startup and new market entry, operations consolidation, transformation from poor performing culture to high performance culture, and out of operational nightmares and financial hardships. However, he didn’t do it alone. He built very capable and collaborative teams that he coached, motivated, enabled and supported to build great places to work and achieve new heights of performance.
Married, with three adult children, Mike loves traveling and has recently taken up hiking. His most recent hike was on the Camino de Santiago, over 125 miles from Ponferrada to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. It was an incredible adventure!
In addition to Mike’s C-Level experience, he has been developing and coaching leaders for over five years as an individual coach and advisor, as well as through his continued affiliation with the Innovative Leadership Institute (ILI).
Mike has also been co-leading the Ohio IT Leaders program since 2017. This 12-month leadership development program is for current and aspiring CIOs, CTOs, CISOs and other top technology leadership roles. There have been over 250 participants (5 cohorts) in these programs from over 130 companies and governmental organizations to date.

- Led/on team to startup 8 companies (2 international), acquire 4 companies (1 international), sell 9 companies, and perform 3 financial turnarounds
- Central Ohio Tech Power Players Honoree - 2018 & 2019
- Association for Corporate Growth (ACG Columbus) Speaker and Corporate Value Award Finalist
- Volunteer - Board of Trustees of LifeCare Alliance, Volunteer for BalletMet Columbus
Mike earned his Bachelor Degrees in Computer Science and Accounting, and his MBA degree from The Ohio State University.
